The In-Room Dining Server provides F&B room service for the breakfast or dinner service periods. Being an In-Room Dining Server requires getting everything right the first time, every time; expediency, suggestive selling, a friendly phone presence, and timing.
Here is what Adriana S. from the Houston Magnolia Hotel says about being an In-Room Dining Server: “You may think that an In Room Dining Server is just taking phone orders but it’s a whole lot more. It requires paying attention to every detail of what the guests is asking for, you want to prepare their order as if you were preparing it for yourself by making sure that anything that they need such as, condiments, silverware, etc are delivered with their order. One important process I do every time I answer the phone is to greet the guest, ask, listen, and always suggest options by up selling items off the menu. Once the order is delivered to the room, it is always a great feeling when the guest does not call stating items are missing, then you know you did a great job satisfying the guest.”

Provide welcoming phone greeting, and following guest ordering procedures. Convey menu information over the phone to guests and give accurate estimate of delivery time. Do assigned side duties including tray setup, tray runs. Have fun, make $$$ and make the guest happy.
