The Houseman is Housekeeping’s “Swiss Army knife” as he or she will be called to do many different tasks; such as delivering a crib or rollaway bed, work a buffer to polish a floor, clean the Hotel’s drive, take ice to a room, stock supplies for the Room Attendants, as well as be the overall go to person for Housekeeping.

Some duties and responsibilities of the Housekeeping Houseman position include:
Keep hotel public areas inside and out, clean and stocked throughout the shift as scheduled or instructed by Housekeeping management. Make deliveries to guest rooms for guest requested items such as amenities, rollaway beds, cribs, bedding, etc. and follow instructed procedures for entering a guest room when the room is occupied by a guest. Properly report maintenance problems found in the Hotel during your shift. Keep designated storage areas clean and orderly and follow instructions for stocking linen and/or supply closets. Complete any special projects as given by Housekeeping Management. Always look sharp as this is a “face the guest” position.
Some desired qualifications for the Housekeeping Houseman position include:
Able to meet physical qualifications of the job, which include bending, twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling and long periods of standing. Able to work as part of a team to assist others to complete assignments. Previous Houseman, Room Attendant or building maintenance experience.
